The name itself contains a rebuke to those builders of the "new world" on the theories of Marx and Engels, who created the very specter of communism that has been wandering around Europe for a long time. This picture is a conviction, a harsh and merciless sentence to all the bloody and cruel events that took place in the Soviet era.
The picture is a collage. The red five-pointed star occupying the center of composition immediately catches the eye, as if focusing attention on the characters depicted in it, the main culprits of terror ... The picture is large, complex in compositional terms, multi-figured, multi-detail.

Here you can see the numerous repetitions of Lenin, as the main villain of communism - somewhere he smiles maliciously, somewhere with a brutal look and with wide eyes shouting. So scary are the faces of his other associates and followers. Glazunov, an ardent opponent of communism, the defender of tsarist power, shows us the historical past, all those events, the premises of terror. The canvas depicts Oliver Cromwell - regicide, French revolutionaries, Narodnaya Volya and others.

On the left side of the picture are dreams of a happy and free country - Orthodox Tsarist Russia. A clear sky, domes, bell ringing, Holy Russia! ... Here you can see both ordinary people of the former Russia and cultural and political figures, close-up shows Stolypin, a poster with the Tsar and Tsarina. A little lower in a red bloody haze, as if embraced by a great fire, we see the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II, who died a martyrdom, with burning aureoles around their heads.

On the right side of the canvas is the face of Christ, who with an agonized gaze looks around what is happening around. ... Below - Perestroika, glasnost, the collapse of the USSR - modern, Russia, which is also far from ideal ...
